Looking Back, I Look Ahead

It was eight years ago this past July that I found the source of my agonizing chest and back pain, two lumps on the edge of my left breast that forever changed my life . . . primarily, for the better. I left my home in Michigan and lived with cousins in California, five miles from Stanford, where I received my treatment. How strange is it that exactly eight years later and nearly 46 years since I left California, I find myself back. The circle is complete.

My daughter thought I should blog about my cancer journey back then, so she set up a blog for me, long before I knew anything about social media. I have not read it in a very long time, but her words to me years ago, ring true today and are basically, the basis for The JOYFIT Project. Thank you for all of your love, support and thoughtfulness, my sweet Sara!

EnJOY!

"I thought I would post some interesting quotes on health and well-being, most of which of course celebrate a well-rounded health and natural healing. I think the bottom line is that deep healing comes from within oneself, not just from without. I thought you might like the one Irish proverb especially because it talks about laughter. I love you!" "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."~World Health Organization, 1948 "He who takes medicine and neglects to diet wastes the skill of his doctors." ~ Chinese Proverb "A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book." ~ Irish Proverb "Fresh air impoverishes the doctor." ~ Danish Proverb
